World Youth Skills Day: JMG Reaffirms Commitment to Youth Empowerment in Nigeria

As the world marks World Youth Skills Day, JMG, a leading electro-mechanical solutions provider, has reiterated its commitment to youth empowerment and capacity building in Nigeria.

The company emphasized the need to equip young Nigerians with relevant technical and industrial skills to drive sustainable development and economic growth.

Speaking on the significance of the day, Group General Manager of JMG, Rabi Jammal, said the company remains focused on bridging the skills gap in critical sectors such as power, infrastructure, automation, and industrial systems.

“At JMG, we don’t just see youth as the leaders of tomorrow, we recognize them as the changemakers of today,” Jammal stated. “World Youth Skills Day is a powerful reminder that building a sustainable and inclusive future begins with deliberate investment in practical, hands-on skills.”

With Nigeria’s youth comprising more than 60% of the population, JMG believes the nation’s progress is tied to a skilled, empowered, and technologically adept generation.

Through a range of technical training programmes, apprenticeships, and partnerships with educational institutions, the company continues to train young Nigerians in areas such as electrical engineering and energy solutions.

JMG noted that its structured training programmes are designed not only to make young people job-ready, but also to inspire innovation and leadership in their communities.

As part of its World Youth Skills Day message, JMG called on the private sector, policymakers, and education stakeholders to deepen their investments in technical education and youth empowerment.

“Empowering young people today means securing Nigeria’s future,” Jammal added. “We must work collaboratively to build a workforce that will power the country’s industrial and economic transformation.”
