Pernod Ricard Nigeria Celebrates Women’s Impact with Powerful Event

Pernod Ricard Nigeria has marked the 2026 International Women’s Day with a thought-provoking event themed “Women Who Raise the Bar,” highlighting the role of women as cultural architects shaping business, leadership, creativity, and community.

Anchored on the global International Women’s Day theme, “Give to Gain,” the gathering explored how women drive progress through mentorship, innovation, leadership, and the value they contribute across sectors.

In his welcome address, the Managing Director, Michael Ehindero, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to inclusive leadership, noting that empowering women to lead and influence is critical to sustainable growth for organisations and society at large.

The event featured a panel discussion with industry leaders including Susan Anisa Younis, Ibukun Abidoye, Abuchi Peter Ugwu, and Tola Akerele, who shared insights on leadership, growth, and the role women play in shaping culture and narratives, particularly within African contexts.

Delivering the keynote address, the Human Resources Director, Dr. Joshua Ademuwagun, emphasised the need to create enabling environments where women can thrive, while commending the achievements of women within the organisation and across the global Pernod Ricard Group.

Discussions at the event also addressed mentorship, collaboration among women, barriers to leadership, and the importance of intentionally creating opportunities for the next generation.

Reflecting on the programme, Corporate Affairs Manager, Nnenna Duru, described the experience as impactful and inspiring.

‘Women Who Raise the Bar’ felt deeply personal. It challenged me to think more intentionally about how I show up. not just for my career, but for other women coming behind me,” she said.

The event concluded with a renewed call for sustained action on gender equity and inclusion, reinforcing Pernod Ricard Nigeria’s commitment to empowering women and fostering meaningful conversations at the intersection of culture and business.
