In alignment with the Lagos State Government’s drive to integrate technology into education, the Noella Foundation has donated 100 laptops to 10 secondary schools across the state, supporting the advancement of teaching, learning, and digital literacy among students and teachers.
The donation, carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, marks the first phase of the Foundation’s initiative to strengthen educational management and improve learning outcomes across the six education districts in Lagos State.
Each of the 10 selected schools, five senior and five junior secondary schools, received 10 laptop computers, with nine units presented to the schools and one unit awarded to the overall best student in each school for academic excellence and exemplary conduct.
Receiving the laptops on behalf of the State Government, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mrs. Abisola Dokunmu-Adegbite, expressed profound appreciation to the Noella Foundation for its thoughtful intervention, which coincided with the 40th birthday celebration of the Foundation’s Founder and Chairman, Mr. Oluwaseyi Tinubu (Esq.), on October 13, 2025.
She noted that the gesture aligns perfectly with the third pillar of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ Agenda, Education and Technology, which emphasizes the use of ICT to enhance educational quality and bridge learning gaps.
“This donation is not only timely but strategic. It directly contributes to improved efficiency in our education ecosystem and supports our goal of integrating ICT into teaching and learning across all levels,” she said.
Speaking on behalf of the Foundation, Mrs. Ozioma Anyiam-Osigwe emphasized that the initiative represents more than just a laptop distribution drive, it is a lasting commitment to empowering the next generation.
“These laptops are gateways to knowledge, creativity, and possibility. We want every student to have the tools to compete, not just locally but globally. Our mission is to inspire and equip Nigerian youth to reach their full potential,” she stated.
The first-phase beneficiary schools include: Senior Secondary Schools: Omole Senior Secondary School, Ojodu; Community Senior High School, Alapere; Baptist Senior High School, Obanikoro; Majidun Senior Grammar School, Ikorodu; and Girls Senior High School, Agege.
The Junior Secondary Schools are: Vetland Junior Grammar School, Agege; Orile-Agege Community Junior High School, Agege; Igbobi Junior High School, Somolu; Wahab Folawiyo Junior High School, Eti-Osa; and Dolphin Junior High School, Lagos Island.
Best students recognized for outstanding performance include Adiza Wada, Oluwadabira Shoewu, Bakri-Adetona Yakub, Patrick Francis, and Abibat Oladiran from the senior category; and Olatunji Enoch, Esther Olaseinde, Hameedah Bello, Shuaib Fatimah, and Abdulkareem Mudashir from the junior category.
