Lagos is set to host the 2026 edition of the Lagos Fanti Carnival, described by organisers as Africa’s biggest Afro Brazilian street experience, on Monday, April 6, 2026.
The cultural street carnival will take place at Tafawa Balewa Square, bringing together thousands of participants and spectators to celebrate heritage, rhythm, and creativity.
The Lagos Fanti Carnival is known for its vibrant Afro Brazilian inspired performances, elaborate costumes, music, and street processions that showcase the rich cultural connections between Brazil and Lagos Island communities.
The event is expected to feature breathtaking dance displays, colourful parades, and immersive cultural exhibitions.
Organisers say the carnival aims to promote cultural tourism, preserve historical heritage, and provide a platform for artistic expression within Lagos.
Tickets and access passes for the event are available online at lagosfanti.com.
